How Music Changed Part 141-19: The Beatles Part 19

episode date - January 20, 2012

Coming right on the heels of “A Hard Day’s Night,” the Beatles first tour of North America was an event of epic proportion. Never before in the history of popular culture was one act swamped with so much media coverage.

The opportunity to generate money followed the Beatles everywhere they traveled, and the record labels that had rights to their songs were not going to waste an opportunity like this, so they were quick to cash in and release any possible tidbit. The majority of this show features an album released on Vee-Jay Records titled “The Beatles Tell All.” It has since fallen into obscurity, but it is surprisingly worthwhile to hear these interviews now, mostly because John Lennon was already developing his rather candid and honest way of approaching an interview.

Tracks featured include;

1) Boys (live)

2) A Hard Day’s Night (live)

3) Long Tall Sally (live)

4) I’ll Be Back (rehearsal)

5) You Know What to Do

6) No Reply (rehearsal)

7) Beatles Interviews
