How Music Changed Part 141-18: The Beatles Part 18

episode date - January 13, 2012

After the whirlwind schedule imposed by “A Hard Day’s Night”, the Beatles embarked on a much-needed vacation, but the pace resumed almost immediately afterward. Brian Epstein arranged for the Beatles first tour of America, with 25 dates scattered over approximately 35 days.

So much for rest, especially when “days off” usually meant meeting and greeting, promotional appearances, etc. The mass international success that came about during the first half of 1964 turned into a 24 hour a day/seven day a week job for the Beatles for the second half of the year.

Songs featured in this episode include:

1) Any Time at All

2) I’ll Cry Instead

3) Things We Said Today

4) When I Get Home

5) You Can’t Do That

6) I’ll Be Back
